Find out whether cosmetic dentistry will be able to tackle your crooked teeth.

Many adults deal with spacing issues, crooked teeth and even crowding. However, the idea of wearing braces may not be appealing to cosmetic dentistrymany people. After all, what would it be like to have to lead a work meeting when you are wearing braces? You might worry that other people will notice your braces rather than paying attention to what you have to say. Fortunately, our Reno, NV cosmetic dentist, Dr. Melinda Kuhn, prides herself on providing several treatment options for minor spacing issues.

Tooth Contouring

Most people are looking for inexpensive approaches to improving their smiles, which is why we are happy to offer tooth contouring and reshaping in Reno. During this non-invasive treatment, we will gently shave off tooth enamel to reshape the tooth and improve its appearance. Of course, because this treatment is a very conservative, dental contouring will only be able to fix  minor crookedness.

Porcelain Veneers

Dental veneers have become a popular dental option because they are able to do so much for the shape and appearance of your smile in only a couple visits. These thin porcelain shells are specially made to bond to the front of your teeth to hide more moderate issues like gaps between teeth, crowding and even crooked or malformed teeth.

Similar to tooth contouring, we will need to shave down some tooth enamel. However, the preparation required for veneers is a bit more in-depth than it is with contouring. While it’s not painful, this procedure is not reversible once enamel has been removed. Of course, veneers are custom-made just for you so that you get the smile you’ve always wanted but never thought you could have. Veneers are also great for malformed, uneven, discolored and misshapen teeth.

Have questions about any of these cosmetic options above? If so, then it’s time you gave Kuhn Family Dentistry in Reno, NV a call. We would be happy to set up a consultation with Dr. Kuhn as soon as possible.
